I recorded this today (11/8/08) on my imac with Hardesty fiddle # 85 using audacity (the program [;)] for this week's Tune of the Week. I start basic then add my variations. Choose how basic or fancy you want, but listen to the fiddle part to get a better idea of what you might play on the banjo to pair, counter or otherwise back up the fiddler.

Great fiddling, Dan. Plain or fancy, it's all good.

W O W !!! Your banjo rendition was excellent and in need of nothing, and by combining two versions in medley you have proven yourself to be a man after mine own heart. For this fiddle arrangement, the best complement I can think of is that it sounded like a cross between an accomplished Missouri fiddler and Jane Rothfield (the Queen of Excellent Tone and Clean Articulation). Keep up the GREAT WORK. I'll be adding you to my list of favorite musicians at both the Banjo Hangout and the Fiddle Hangout.
