In the earliest *catalog-photos* (" cat - c. late-པ) the Montana models had pearl inlay, with "Bacon" in script. Earlier 'prototypical' examples do exist -- with engraved celluloid. Discussed in BHO Topic: http://www.banjohangout.org/topic/192783/#2541094
