I'm also doing a TB-11 conversion right now. I'm planning on doing a orginal full MOTS pedhead and fingerboard, but I've been having second thoughts. What fingerboard did you use on your conversions? Byt the way before I chose the JLS #12 tone ring for this 11, I was really considering using the Kulesh vintage 20, and now I noticed you've a Kulesh in on of yours. How do you like it?? thanks for your help Dan ("DIV")

Dan,
You are going to love your TB-11. They make great banjos. I am playing the one with the Kulesh ring right now. It's just personal preference, but I like Kulesh 20 hole rings. The neck on this banjo is mahogany painted to match the original resonator. It has a double cut peghead with H&F inlays on a rosewood fingerboard. It is very loud. When I play the fourth string I can feel vibration in my toes.
The TB-11 with the Ryan ring is not back from the luthier yet, so I haven't had a chance to play it. The neck on this banjo is also mahogany painted to match the original resonator. The peghead is being cut in the exact shape as the original tenor peghead. The inlays are cut out of MOP and are exactly like the original inlays on the tenor neck. I am putting an ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay on this neck. I really like the contrast of pearl on ebony. I should have it back within 30 days.
