An old time pic of an unknown Aussie prisoner of war who managed to keep his button accordion hidden and played for his mates during 2 years of captivity in a Japanese WW2 prisoner of war camp. The photograph was taken almost exactly 65 years ago to the day, just after the liberation of a prisoner of war camp in Java, now Sumatra, Indonesia, in September 1945.

That's a great photo Rob, reminds me of a great book called "Accordian Crimes" by E. Annie Proulx. The story traces the history of a button accordion through several countries and generations. Fantastic read, I wish she had written it about a banjo though.
