*** What a beautiful picture. I live in central NY about 1 1/2 hrs from the Adirondack Mountains and I have seen this pileated woodpecker once in the early morning. I have always been very intrigued by this bird. Whenever I sit out and play my banjo I only seem to draw sparrows and hummingbirds. Seems funny but I think they like the sound of the old banjer.
