During my freshman year of college, my buddy Curtis and I were in a very short-lived folk band called George Washington. It was hard to play together because Curtis lived in Ypsilanti, I lived in East Lansing, and the other two guys (Casey and Dave) were still in high school back in Troy. This is a funny old photo and a great shot of Curtis' Deering banjo and my very first bass, an American Standard plywood beater.
