Thanks, bro. The nut is made from old piano key ivory. I glued several pieces into a stack with black superglue, then removed the material that wasn't nut.

Hello Tim.
Just wanted you to know that I have been playing this banjo alot.
I keep it on a stand in the living room and just pick it up and play it all the time.
I've had many nice compliments on the painted head from folks who have seen its photo. :)
