Dancing Queen says that Norm broke a string on his Banjo
playing in his Band at the Jazz Club one evening, so he showed
me how to put a new one on. What a lovely, kind and nice
gentleman he was to talk to. He is quite ill now and cannot
play his Banjo anymore. I do miss his wonderful playing.

What a great bloke with a huge sense of humour, and a real entertainer. Many fond memories from the C&W Hour days.

I met Norm one night when i was playing with the Pipe Band.
He looked rather "poorly" and i wondered how he was going to perform his part in the show. Half an hour later he put on a terrific
display of Jazz Banjo and singing, coupled with some funny antics.
A true showman indeed!. He performed like a 20 year old with 40 years of experience.

Dancing Queen says that Mike Smith has now taken the place
of Norm Koch with The Adelaide City Jazzmen besides playing
for the band The Jazz Ramblers. They are playing tonight at the
Southern Jazz Club and Mike also plays Bluegrass as well.
