I've had this little guitar for several years and hadnt played in in a good while.Pulled it out the other day n found the bridge pulling loose from the body.I didnt want to order a new bridge and pay those prices so,, I made a tailpiece to take the strain off the bridge and it works great.Now has a punchier sound too.The tailpiece used to be part of a lawn tractor. Jan 09 Update on the "repair" When I 1st did this repair project I found that the guitar didnt want to stay in tune perfectly.Looking it over after the repair I realized that the top of the guitar was bowed slightly down from the stress the pulled up bridge was placing on it.What I did was, well, nothing and just let it set for the rest of the summer.Pulled it out again last week and found that the bridge has settled back into almost the original position and she stays in tune much better now.The string pressure being now in the right places pulled the bridge back down and she plays and sounds fine.The bow also has popped back up almost to the original position. Good thing too because if the repair didnt work I was thinking about cutting her up and using the neck in some project or other.
