High School Hootenanny, 1966. My best friend, Clark Barber, on banjo. Me (age 16) on 12-string. My first 5-string banjo was an antique-shop find, that Clark gave to me.

Hi Chris -- I'd only been playing guitar less than a full year, at that point. (I had played baritone uke for a year or two, before getting a guitar.)
My 12-string was an inexpensive Conrad (Japanese) -- but it played well, and sounded pretty good. My friend Clark is playing an inexpensive West German-made "Orpheum" banjo. (Basically a Kay/ Stromberg-Voisinet style.)
