First time I ever saw Weidlich's version. He changed the bar lines, thus altering the feel of the downbeat. Too bad....the Rice version as he wrote it is so cool. Beware the tabbers!!! Specifically, he begins to stray in M4.

Thanks for the info. I haven't really tapped into this book as a resource, so it's good to be informed. It's perhaps a more comprehensive picture of minstrel banjo which I hoped would give me historic insight.

Yesterday bd posted a video of Rice's version. It was nice, especially at the end of the B part.
