I had been wanting to go to Alaska for decades and one day in 1984 at dawn a friend was rapping on my bedroom window saying that he just got fired from his job and suggested that we take off for Alaska. Two weeks later we were on the road. We were gone six weeks and rode just over 16,000 miles. Went up on the Cassier Highway ( then dirt ) and back on the Alcan. Surprisingly the Ducati ran great both up and back and also surprisingly his BMW R90S gave problems all the way up and all the way back.......but we made it and it was a great trip too!
