Close, but not the same one...yours has the diamond inlay on the heel, the catalog one has the flower. Plus you resonator has nicer tiger stripes in the maple. Incidentally, I once owned the walnut juggernaut III in that same catalog.

Wow...I never noticed (actually I never looked) Chuck told me when he was about to ship it that he was gonna take some pics and use it for a catalog...I got out the old catalog this morning and found a bolnde Juggernaut on page 8 and just assumed that was it...lol...my bad.

I think you got the better of the two! Another difference is the white stripe between the 2 dark center stripes on the back...yours is not white in the middle, it's maple colored.
They were very inventive in the catalogs. in the 1983 that you have, If you look at page 4, on the far right there is a maple Columbine III--that is the same banjo that you see the back of on page 8 "pretending to be" a Mogul III...you can't tell the difference from the back.
Also, On page 7 the Walnut Juggernaut III on the left is the same "Columbine III" on page 4. That's the banjo I used to own...You can see that the resonator is exactly the same...(see here: hangoutstorage.com/banjohangou...72008.jpg)...I've learned to recognize resonator backs as unique as fingerprints!...
cool, stuff, hugh?
