The banjo I am holding here is a 1970's KAY six string banjo I purchased then to add a banjo sound to our band without having to worry about fingering changes in the midst of set. I have now, somewhat, converted it to a Tenor with Irish tuning of GDae. The neck is still the original 1.70 inches at the nut and has 19 frets. No tone ring, but certainly holds it's own in a large group. Because of the style it is I am using a 5 string bridge blank and set it for 4 strings. The length of the bridge affords more coverage of the head.
