Well, I just joined a songwriter's group here on the Hangout. I had no intention of sharing these recordings I did in the early summer. But, what the heck!? Not very traditional, however there are elements of roots music in there along with my other loves, such as: surf, blues, folk-rock, alt-country. I write lyrics time to time, always have since I was a teenager. Here's my contribution for those curious about other's original material.

Love the reverb/tremelo "dark feel" and in this one (if you could be just a shade more hoarse in yer vocals) evoked Mark Knopfler! Dude... you got chops... cultivate 'em... and I like the "moody" side of life... the gray... the bittersweet... The Twilight, if ya knows what i means.

Ahhh.....Mark Knopfler....it's very interesting (to me) you mention him. The electric guitar in this song is a direct influence from JJ Cale, one of my all time faves! Anyways, I read somewhere that Mark K. also has a huge admiration of JJ Cale. When you listen to Dire Straits, you definitely hear it in the guitar work. So it seems it has come full circle (to me) for you to say that. Thanks Ken, I figured you were the Twilight type.......
