This tune came up in response to my children leaving home in the 90's. My friend Glen Copeland added the vocal track. I included this in Banjo Suite released in 2000.

last track on Banjo Suite 2, commissioned for a friend's 60th birthday (Bob). It was supposed to be Polish sounding, so after listening to Polish folk music the only aspect I could incorporate was a pattern of moving back and forth from major to minor key. He grew up in remote northern Manitoba on the Fir River and the river was a source of sustenance with joy and sorrow. There are some added banjo tracks to mimic the babbling sound. I added a simple djembe with shaker.

Originally called Susan's Waltz, I changed the name to her daughter's who survives her and carries on the tradition.

an old (for me) tune when I was first loosening up with clawhammer. Just pure fun.

D-tuning with other instruments played by me and I'm not a multi-instrumentalist! - with middle section waiting for a fiddle or guitar lead. There are a lot of interesting melodic possibilities in D-tuning.
