A request was made to hear how a Reiter Roundpeak sounded. And the tune of the week was Boatman so here's the way I play it. Probably it's taken mostly from Dan's Levenson's tab like a lot of the stuff I play.

There was a thread about doing rock songs. If you know the tune I hope this rings a bell. It's fun playing this tune. And it's easy too. I'm playing it on my flying eyeball Romero using Savarez Cristal Corum strings. Same tension as the yellow cards but normal diameter. These strings sound different too. I 'm in double C tuning. The banjo sounds better here than tuned up to D.

Here's what my Brooks 11.5 silverspun rimmed banjo sounds like. The tuning is AEAAE.

An Adam Hurt arrangement from his Perspective CD. There's a tab of most of tune in a BNL. It should be in D but I'm playing it in C because it sounds better to me on the flying eyeball banjo tuned lower. EvidentlyI have a problem breathing when the recorder is on and I'm playing. Oh well.

This is on my 12 inch Walnut Romero with a brass tone ring. This song is supposed to be in the key of C but I'm playing it in D.

I think this is a Hank Bradley tune? THis is played on my Brooks Silverspun with Savarez High Tension Nylon strings.

I was listening to a clip of this at Jason's site from Dirk Powell. I played around with it for couple of hours and got this. The tuning is G#EG#BE which is a new one for me but it's very common. It's an open D tuning called Dead Mans tuning. I'm playing it tuned up a step. I'm playing a Romero chechen fretless with a 13 inch rim. The pot is deep 3.5 inches. This one has a skin head.

Scott's tune of the week 8/24/08. It works out nice in FCFCD. Whoops I'm tuned up to GDGDE.

Fingerstyle. A great Tony Ellis tune played at a stately pace on my Brooks Silverspun with Savarez High Tension Nylon Strings
