During a band practice session we some how stumbled into this arrangement. We actually play pretty straight bluegrass, but this kinda came out like contemporary old-time-ish maybe? Whatever it was, it was fun! There are two banjos on this one, I'm capoed, but the other banjo isn't and is playing harmony. Oh and this is about a year old. I'd forgot about it and found it on my computer.

This was a warm up at the beginning of a jam with my buddy Ben. I was trying some new melodic licks out. This turned out to be the only time at the jam that I could get these licks out! It's got some screw ups, but whatever!

Same ol' tune with a new lick or two. It's been a while since I've posted a tune, and this was my last recording with my old friend Ben. This is my newest banjo, and 60's RB100

After some coaxing from one of my roommates, I finally got around to taking a crack at this tune. I had always messed with the intro, but never really had much interest in learning the song. This recording was done on the 3rd day of messing with this song. This is the first arrangement that I did not use any tab for, and am actually kinda satisfied with! A break through! It's just a short cut from a warm up at the beginning of a practice session. Wear yur Billy Bob teeth!

It's not perfect but here goes. 1 lead, 1 vamp banjo track, 1 really bad guitar back up track, (I never said I could play guitar) and then some slapping on the guitar to really get on your nerves. It's recorded using my mac, and I haven't gotten a mic, so it's the built in mic, I kinda just play at my computer. it's pretty funny.

I learned this tune from Ian Perry's column in BNL.

I was asked by a friend in 2004 to record a part on his current album. I had only been playing a few months and really had no idea what i was doing. He asked for a B flat chord and I had no clue. He wanted something weird and disconnected. I recorded it in the booth and never got a chance to hear the finished cut. We recorded in Harrisburg PA in 2004. Last night I saw the kid at a party in Brooklyn and we both freaked! HE had a copy of the CD on him!! What are the chances?? My name is in the cd, how cool is that? Enjoy!

This was my first crack at playing this tune outside the comfort of my bedroom. I skipped the intro b/c my buddy and I just couldn't get it together!! I'm gonna post an improved version of this eventually, I just gotta find the time to sit and record it! It could be cleaner, but it was a new tune for me. This was recorded on tape and I re-recorded it into audacity and cleaned it up as best I could w/o overdoing it. Lemme know what chu think!

This a track on my buddy's new album. He asked if I'd play some banjo on it, and I gave it a shot. I think it turned out pretty well. I've never really tried to play "Outlaw Country" or any kind of "Country" before. It was fun, and I figured I'd post it since I haven't posted any songs for a long time. Enjoy.

This is me and my buddy Bill showing our other two band mates our harmony break for Newton Grove. I love playing with this guy.
