This is my version of John Stenson's No. 2. I am up-picking and adding a few accent notes here and there. I revised the B part by using the lower octave and adding some different riffs. I think that old time fiddle tunes leave room for players to be creative, while preserving the original melody. Enjoy.

Dom Flemmons plays Kerr's Nego Jig on the Carolina Chocolate Drops album "Leaving Eden". Dom uses a gourd banjo. I was inspired to learn this tune on my new gourd banjo. My banjo was built by Les Taylor, a local luthier who works out of his house. I provided the gourd and a banjo kit and he turned it into a work of art. I chose the following tuning for this piece: E - A - D - G - A The melody's range seems to fit the left hand very comfortably in this tuning. Please let me know what you think of this tune.

I recorded this tune on my gourd banjo, tuned dADAB. I learned the tune from Zepp's Youtube video. I think that this tempo works for the gourd banjo. I hope that you enjoy this tune.

I played this tune on my gourd banjo, tuned eAEAB (double A). My good friend Les Taylor built this banjo using I gourd that I purchased at Wuertz Farm. Casa Grande, Arizona. I have found that this banjo responds well to up picking with a light touch. Please let me know what you think.
