Again with fiddler Dick Arnold, from the same session as the others. Essex Concert Grand in G tuning, capoed 2. Dick's tuned standard. We just got going and didn't want to stop.

With fiddler Dick Arnold. Recording data same as for "Arkansas Traveller." This was our first track, it's rough, and the banjo's probably too heavy in the mix. Banjo G tuning, capoed 2d fret.

Played on my Essex Concert Grand (Whyte Laydie clone) in C tuning cranked up to D (aDAC#E). This is the original tuning shape for Turkey, but in 1834 the banjo was tuned lower and the key was G. Most fiddlers play it there, as do bluegrass banjo pickers. But clawhammer works best in the C tuning setting, so that's where I learned it.
