A favorite calypso by the late great Lord Kitchener. I was looking for that old-school calypso tenor banjo thing! My tuning is CGDG for the banjo, GDAD for the mandolin. That's also me on bass and guitar. There's a bit of collateral noise when I give the C string a good plunk, I'm not sure if it's the pickup, the hardware or the bridge. If anybody has some ideas I'm (as Ross Perot famously said) "all ears."

This is from my upcoming collection of Christmas carols for the banjo, due out the beginning of October. 19 old Christmas faves for solo banjo in notation and TAB. It'll be available at my website, and you can download the other MP3s now at CDBaby.com/Jocko. Enjoy! By the way, I'm new to Banjo Hangout, and I LOVE IT! There's more useful information here than I know what to do with!

I posted the banjo TAB for this on 3/24/13. Definitely not audiophile quality - had a gear malfunction, but today was the day I set aside to record it, so I just went with the built in mic for now. (c) 2013, Jocko MacNelly

This is a Macedonian folksong that my stepdaughter Abigail and I did as part of a Christmas/Hanukka present for her mom. Abby sings with the Yale Slavic Chorus and has been schooling me in the various GREAT Eastern European choral traditions. We were in a hurry, since in the three hours Madame was out of the house we got the idea, came up with three tunes, rehearsed, recorded and burned CD's of them. So I accompanied using the bottom two (of three) parts, and overdubbed the melody in the intro and third verse, but as soon as I get a minute I'll get a solo tab up. There's a bunch of this stuff that would be gorgeous on the banjo. Oh - and the present was a huge hit.
