As close as I can get to the version on RS "Solo" album. (Both A and B parts have 10 measures.)

A clawhammer interpretation of Mike Seeger's setting of George Lander's tune. Actually, this is more closely related to Jason Romero's version on the Haints' "Shout Mona." fCFCD tuning on the 12" Ramsey, rolled brass tone ring.

Inspired by a discussion in Tune of the Week, Feb 5, 2010. I always knew this as Down in the Salley Garden. "Salley" is an Irish word for willow (from latin). In that version, lyrics by William Butler Yeats, the tune is a lament. I like the uptempo versions, especially when Willow Garden's murder-ballad lyrics are sung; the mood of those lyrics at a spirited tempo create an odd tension. I'm not singing here.

An Ozark fiddle tune first recorded by the Morrison Twin Brothers. Double-tracked; Romero strung with Nylgut strings and Ome strung with steel.
