This is a Norwegian traditional lullaby that I arranged for clawhammer banjo. It's often played on the langeleik(a Norwegian instrument a bit similar to the mountain dulcimer). Note the odd numbers of measures, 5 in part A and 7 in part B.

This is my own arrangement of Bonaparte Crossing The Rhine played on my brand new 12" Sagmoen banjo with a Dobson ring. It has a Fyberskin head(slightly dampened) and Wayne's own maple/ebony bridge. I just love this banjo!!

My wife and I have started an Old Time-band with guitar player extraordinaire Kjetil Steensnaes. We call ourselves Darling West, and play a mix of traditional songs and original material. Here’s our version of Little Sadie, recorded live in Kjetil’s livingroom. My wife sings and plays mandolin, I’m on my Sagmoen banjo and Kjetil plays the six-string.

This a clip with the Fairbanks & Cole "Fairbanks & Cole model" I bought on the Hangout in November 2009. It has a skin head and Nylgut "Classical" strings. Still getting used to the low tension and high action, but I really like this banjo. The first time through comes from Miles Krassen's book Clawhammer Banjo and the second from Ken Perlman's book Clawhammer Style Banjo.

This is an improvised piece taken from the album Saadagen(Sowing Day) by Norwegian hornplayer Eilif Gundersen. He's playing a traditional flute and I'm on my openback banjo. The only thing that was decided before we started playing was the title.
