An old Sleepy John Estes/Yank Rachel number peformed for live radio by me (on mandolin) and my buddy Gordon Bonham (guitar/voc). Gordon peformed on and off with Yank for close to 10 years until Yanks' death.

Old Amos Milburn number. I'm singing and playing electric guitar. Scott Kellogg on bass; Joe Donnelly on sax; Bennet Williams on drums. Recorded in 1998/9 when I was a IU Music School audio student. I engineered, mixed, and arranged the tune. Not bluegrass or banjo music, but I've always been a little splintered when it comes to roots music. Back in the days when I put aside the banjo and lived and breathed electric guitar.

Live cut from a performance by myself and my musical partner Gordon Bonham. When I gig out, I gig out as a blues mandolinist. Gordon is a blues guitarist extraordinaire who has performed with Yank Rachel, Bo Diddley, Gary Primich, and leads his own group.

My arrangement loosely based on the playing of Butch Robins. One of the greatest fiddle tunes ever.

Another obscure Bill Monroe instrumental. Only recorded versions I know of are from Monroe's Bean Blossom 79 album, Mike Compton's recent Stomp release on Acoustic Disc, and Michael Cleveland on Let Er Go Boys. I've tried learning this a few times on mandolin with both Compton and Butch Robins showing me parts of the melody, but my success on mandolin has been a dud. However, I came up with this banjo arrangement and I like it a lot (except for a few phrases here and there I need to work out)
