Rob Vaarmeyer wrote the lyrics for this one and I wrote the music. I was playing "Wheel Hoss" a lot at the time and I think that had a lot of influence on the melody of part A (right after the part where Rob sings "Were you born in a barn?").

An instrumental tune inspired by Tony Trischka. The banjo-cello is still trying to find it's place, although I'm quite happy with this way of using it as a bass and rhythm instrument.

This tune makes a great instrumental. Thanks Ola Belle Reed! This is a multitrack I did using the "Goertzen Hammer" for Scruggs picking and my 5-string Gold Tone Banjo-Cello for clawhammer.

Simon Davis on guitar, Aaron Schorzmann on mandolin and myself doing this old bluegrass standard. Thanks to Paulo Borges for engineering and mixing this pro bono!

I've always enjoyed this tune. I've played it a hundred thousand times but I never get tired of that modal sound, ya know what I mean?

AKA: Crazy Man Song. The only song I've ever written and a bit nonsensical but lots of fun. Thanks to the Stanley Brothers' "Nobody's Business" for inspiration on this one. Note the double banjo break in the middle!

Twenty musicians gathered in a friends basement to each record one Christmas tune. Here's our rendition of Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer mixed with Beer Barrel Polka. Miriam Neuman - Fiddle, Jason Ross - Rhythm Guitar, Jake Stead - Bass, yours truly on banjo.

A tune from the Kitcheneers sessions. We added some traffic noise from Sherbrook St in Winnipeg to the beginning of the song just as a homage to 146 and the great times there......that, and we were mildly annoyed about the traffic noise as we were recording the album so it was also an exaggerated poke at our frustrations.
