This started out as a local fishing tournament jingle and ended up a song. No banjo in this one... not yet anyway. I played the bass, organ, and piano and sang the bass vocal part. Get's me in the fishin' mood!

Another Hammerknocker tune written by head Hammerknocker Kevin Sullivan. I am still tweaking the banjo part on this tune, using a Huber Lexingon. This mix is the first try at adding the banjo to the song in the studio. Weve been assembling the tune while each band member is on the road, working from separate locations. MP3 files get sent back and forth, each time with a new part added. Slowly it becomes a song! I'll reload it once I get the banjo dialed in and the mix levels ironed out. But here it is in it's "work up" stage.

Here's an advance track from our new album dropping on iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora next week. I played bass, accordion, and percussion on this tune.

Hammerknocker music from our upcoming CD. I used the RB4 on this tune, which was done on Pro Tools at the World Famous Guitar Lounge in Kaufman, Tx. The walnut RB has become my #1 recording banjo just for it's sweet tone and ease of recording. No EQ or compression was on the RB4 for this recording...we just put it in front of a U87 and hit record!

Finally got a new mix of this posted with level boosted.... This is The Hammerknockers......featuring my Gibson RB4. The RB4 has such a great tone and records easily. This was recorded with a Neumann TLM49 at about 16 inches from the head. Very slight boost of upper mid EQ.

I reloaded this one again and think I got the volume up some...This Old Truck features the Gibson Blackjack. Love that banjo. This isn't traditional bluegrass, I guess it's kind of newgrass.

My band, Black Dirt Tango. Banjo is my Yates RS tuned down to F#. Nice and twangy.
