Just got a new mixer, and thought I'd try to record something simple. This is a 1925 Gibson Ball Bearing PB-4 with a Mitch Tone Ring Mate in it. I recorded the banjo, then added guitar and bass. Will add something more profound later.

Here is Goldrush as played on my Gibson Style 6 banjo. I then went back and added guitar, bass and mandolin. The mandolin here is a Gibson Cherry Master Model F-5, built and signed by the late Charlie Derrington. It is only one of two blonde Master models (I think Big Joe still has the other), and the only solid cherry F-5 Master that Gibson has produced. I'm not much of a mandolin player, but compare it with my standard maple Master Model also in my music selection.

Same soundtrack that I laid down for the Cherry Master model--only used my 2004 Derrington Gibson Master Model (std Maple, although the most beautifully flamed one that I've seen). Again, the banjo here is my Gibson Style 6 that Bill Sullivan had Gibson hand craft for him about 4 years back.
