This tune was done more or less as a duet jam with the guitar player, Kieth Mellenger. Later he went back and added the mando chop and the bass behind us. The heck with the banjo, listen to that guitar!

This is from a demo recording made for the Southern Cross bluegrass band. Jon Parsons on mando and lead vocals, Tim Crawford on guitar, and Steve Linstrom on bass. This was recorded after being together for just a few weeks. I was very happy with this tune. The banjo isn't a slamming, up front presence but the fills and back up are quite nice.

This is a red hot, hard drivin' train tune. The whole thing was done live on a radio show. Due to a technical problem at the station, the sound drops out for a few seconds in the middle of the tune. Sorry...

It's that midnight radio show... A little Grateful Dead and me improvising again... However, you'll hear me kick off the break in Cumberland Blues with the classic tune

This clip is from a recital at one of Peter Wernick's Banjo Workshops back in the mid to late 1980s. A great picker named Jimmy Wolling and I worked up a harmony banjo arrangement of this tune. And we trade off sections throughout...

This is a Tony Trischka tune that I played for a recital at one of Pete Wernick's banjo camps. Just done solo since I couldn't find anyone to back me up. ;-)
