I got this from a NLCR record. Ya gotta love a song about a feller that's down in the chicken yard sick on gravy. If you ever see a nifty documentary titled Arctic Son listen for this cut. They asked me to use this on their soundtrack and I said okeydokey. I played it on my '26 Tubaphone potted Bart Reiter in partial C.

This tune seemed like it needed to be rendered on a fretless to me. G tuning on my old Fairbanks fretless.

Not too long ago I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of being the banjo player in a stage play. It was a musical version of The Grapes of Wrath and a recurring song they did was Hard Times. It was a blast, by the way. I had no lines. All I had to do was look like an Okie and play my banjer. Oh, and I got to do some mouth harpin' and jaw harpin' too. Fond memory. Bart Reiter/partial C.

Just some of the fun you can have with a Mac, a mic, and a banjo. Partial C tuning.

Hey, who said you can't play an Elvis song on the banjer? I did it on my Bart Reiter with a '26 Tubaphone pot in partial C.
