Hey! Just bought my first banjo (has not arrived yet), and I can't wait to get started pickin'. I've played guitar marginally well for a long time, and wonder if I'm in for a steep learning curve. Anyway, any type of advice from the voices of experienced banjo players would be welcome. Thanks!

After a 35-year career, 5 years as a teacher and the rest in the corporate rat-race world, I am semi-retired, working as a freelance writer/photographer doing public relations for local school districts in New York state. I have a good deal of free time now, and have always wanted to learn to play the banjo. I play guitar (not all that well) and sing a bit, and adding the banjo (just bought one) to my repertoire would make me happy.
