Hi,
Been a member for awhile, but never did much here. Just wanted to say hi.
I've been playing a little over 40 years. I've been lucky enough to find two groups of excellent musicians to play with over that time. Currently, I play with a part-time group called The New Pioneers. We have several videos on YouTube. If you're interested, go to YouTube and search for Melvoid New Pioneers.
I have also been writing books for the Hal Leonard "Play-Along" series. In fact, I just finished the 5th or 6th one, "Gospel Banjo."
I may have more to say later, but for now, just thought I'd introduce myself.

Been playing banjo since 1975, majored in music education, taught middle school band for awhile, worked as a session musician in Nashville, and as an engineer. I now own a studio in Wisconsin that's keeping me busy, and have recently been writing banjo books for Hal Leonard Publishing for their Play-Along series. So far I've written a bluegrass book, a country book, a Christmas song book, one of current folk/pop hits, and a gospel collection. Most recently, "Do-It-Yourself Banjo," also through Hal Leonard. Some videos of my band, The New Pioneers, are on YouTube. Open YouTube and search "melvoid new pioneers," without the quotes.
