When I was in college I was working on the college radio station and had a noon hour music gig. Being originally from Iowa farming was my backgroung and so I decided to have a farm show. The introduction was from Flatt & Scruggs at Carnegie Hall. I would give the slaughter cow and hog prices and other pertinent farm news and then more bluegrass. The students dubbed me the barnyard savage and, enmasse, came up to the station and demanded the show be cancelled. The speech professor in charge of the station liked the show and refused to change it. The complaint was taken to the Dean and when he told the speech professor to cancel the show, The speech professor quit, left the University and went back to his own radio station.
