feralfrailer is back with a meow!

going to try a pick up where i left my playing a few years ago.  been going by feralfrailer for a few years now without a banjo and felt a little hypocritical.   so, just pulled the trigger on the purchase of a Gretsch "Dixie Special" openback banjo on Reverb.   hoping it'll be just the ticket to get me exploring that sound/style again.   love anything i can pick with my fingers.  with any luck will have it in time for my 61st birthday later this month.  am really looking forward to hearing how it sounds with the loar acoustic archtop guitar i have with flatwound strings.   little worried the neck might be too narrow on the banjo.  just as long as it sounds good i can condition my fingers.
