born and raised Cincinnati; 1st banjo right after hearing Pete Seeger first time in 1958 (my last yr of high school); went to Oberlin College, which at the time was a true hotbed of the folk music revival; I've basically never stopped playing and I'm playing as much now as I've ever played in my life, also doing a little teaching; 3 styles (thumb-lead 2-finger, frailing with double-thumb, basic-strum); enjoy banjo involvement in many styles of folk music
