Vega serial number

Thursday, March 21, 2013

I dragged my granddad's banjo out of the closet and want to know more about it.  I was looking for the serial number to find out more but I can't find it.  Where should I be looking.  I think he bought it new in the 50's or 60's.  can anyone give me an idea?
