Hey there,
Finally got smrt and decided to join the conversation instead of just playing spectator.
I'm a banjo player (adapted fiddle/ mando player) I've been playing tenor for some time since it's tuning is fifths which i love. But i can't get over feeling of that haunting fifth string thing. I'm tuning my tenor high A to G and doing that sort of "tenor frail" which is alright but i'm still wanting a fifth string. So i've decided to work with a ' C scale, 5 string banjo style (roughly 19-20" scale length) and go between tenor tuning and "double C". . . . the perfect banjo right. I have a 10" pot that i can use. Any luthiers out there good at building custom necks or know of a company that can build one for me? I can do the rest of the work if someone can construct the basic neck w or w/o fretboard.
Thanx in advance,
Mark
