I have been wanting to share my testimonial regarding the zero-glide nut system for some time now and that time has arrived. There was a previous discussion posted in the Forum section some time ago which is now locked so instead of starting a new discussion I will just simply post my thoughts / experience here on the blog.
After reading the interview with Béla Fleck in BNL I was intrigued with the Gold Tone Zero-Glide Nut system. If it was working for Béla then it must be good. So I took the plunge and bought the nut system for my guitar. I was so completely surprised and satisfied. This would be considered a subjective thing but for me I did notice an improvement in the overall tone. The instrument just sounded better. And there was an immediate notice in the abilty to tune more quickly. At that point I was completely sold and purchased the system for my Deering Golden Era. Same result. Again I am sharing this subjectively and don't supply any numbers or formulas as supporting evidence. I am strictly relying on how the instruments sound to me etc.
I could not think of owning another guitar or banjo without that system. For more information on the Zero-Glide Nut system and to read the interview with Béla please follow this link.

Began playing in '82 and went nuts with it for about 4 years. Played in some small-time bands and did some studio work. Shortly after that I put it away for about 12 years but have recently picked it up again with the intent to keep it up (with loving support from my wife and kids). Scruggs, melodic, single-string, anything goes type of approach. Whatever sounds interesting and is appropriate. Musical aspiration: make good music, share with others, lead people to Jesus.
