Started playing at age 10. Old time Banjo like my Grandpaw and Guitar like my Dad. Discovered Earl when the Beverly Hillbillies first aired. Performed in any groups and bands. Was doing some radio and TV as a teenager. Began my own group when I moved to Alabame called The Stoney Mountain Boys. Worked a lot of TV and radio. Had my own TV show for 10 years with many guest performers and bands. Started working with The Madison County Ramblers. Stayed 8 years. Started The Next Generation. Worked with many other bands and performers through the years. Performed last with The Flint River Boys. Have made hundreds of recordings with my bands, other bands and assorted studio work over the years. Have taught Banjo and Guitar for 45 of those years. I have had a lot of instruments in my hands over the years, including several of the pre-war banjos.
