I've been taking lessons for several years now and still have much to learn. I haven't yet got to the point where I can play by ear or really join in at jams, but that's what I want to get to. I'm on the verge of ordering my first good banjo in a few days and can't stand it! I have been playing a Harmony aluminum-pot that my wife got me on our 1st anniversary (1991) and it only took me 14 years to start to learn to play it. Now I'm fixing to order a RK 80 from Cliff Fitch so I can really start playing!
