I don't play the banjo and certainly don't know how to tune one. I am an author and filmmaker. Have been in Guthrie, Oklahoma since last October and although I will soon be returning to the Ozarks, will come back to Guthrie this fall for the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival.
Now this is a stretch, but here is why I am at Banjo Hangout:
I am writing Byron Berline's biography. Now Byron's friend is also my favorite banjo player, John Hickman.
Could there be a better reason to lurk among the banjo blogs?
By the way, Mr. John is having some health problems. He said the doctor is going to "fix" him. I wasn't sure where John was going with that, so I can't tell you too much more, except that he should be up and picking by fall.
You will have to forgive me when I say I am a reaper, not a sower. I receive much more than I could ever offer to all you banjo players.
Thanks so much, for allowing me to be a part of Banjo Hangout.
