Come into some birthday money so the opportunity to buy a fretless open back is presenting iitself. I am thinking of spending no more than a $1,000. I would prefer playing with nylon strings. Aside from the Enoch fretless, what other banjos would you recommend that might produce that Dirk Powell sound!

Started playing old timey banjo again in June 2003 after a 18 year hiatus. Participate frrequently in PUget Sound old-timey jams (Olympia and Seattle). Always seeking a more "intimate" setting, smaller groups of people, to play with on a regular basis. Interested in also playing with celtic fiddlers who might be looking for guitar/banjo players to play with.
