Slingerland Banjo Mandolin

Does anyone know anything about Slingerland Banjo products?  I just got an old Banjo Mandolin that looks like a Slingerland image I found on line, but it has  no brand name or serial number.  It appears to be well made, but not fancy and I'm going to restore it regardless, but it would be nice to know it's origin.
