I'm a full time folk singer with my roots firmly planted in the west. My mother's family settled in south eastern Wyoming after the Civil War while my father's family came across the plains with the first Mormon handcart company. Although I consider myself to be a folk singer, I've become known as a clawhammer banjo stylist and have a popular website devoted to helping other banjo players learn my style of play ( www.banjoutah.com ). I've taught private lessons, recorded as a studio musician, competed in (and won) music competitions, been part owner in a music store, and have performed throughout the western states; my music has been featured in movies, television series', and a PBS documentary. I've conducted instrumental workshops on guitar, mandolin, banjo, improvisation and music theory.
