Put together first Banjo-Tams on kitchen table. (Tambourines with Banjos). This was sort of a lark, that has turned into a small company, "Banjo-Tam LLC." Put them together in order to honor my late brother Rick who was a clawhammer banjo player.. Rick, who had passed away two years earlier, was a winner of many ribbons, including first place, at Galax. Other than that, I am a lawyer practicing state and federal criminal defense. I like to say that with me you either "play the music or face the music." I have two kids, and a wonderful wife. Lots of friends. I am privileged to live in the greatest place on earth for the music I love, Western North Carolina. And nothing I do in this world is for my own sake but for the glory of you know who.
