In the late nineties I bought my first guitar, I had been listening to English guitar players, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Martin Carthy and others. When I was living in Brisbane a friend there was into Irish fiddle music, so I backed him up on that, then I heard American fiddle music, it was the Iron Mountain String Band, my life has not been the same since, a permanent change took place immediately, I bought my first 5 string open back banjo in 2008 from Alan Funk here in SA. I am into string band music. I love all the tunes. Music is an amazing experience, it has and does change my life constantly. To me, music is spiritual. I would love to hear from anyone who also plays this music. God Bless.
