Started folk guitar in mid 1950's, tuned & repaired pipe organs in early 60's and again in late 60's and early 70's after military service. Worked as a computer programmer for thirty years starting in late 70's and started playing banjo in 1978 or 1979. Now retired from programming and working as a professional musician, earning hundreds of dollars a year.
