My banjo was stolen 5/24/15 in NYC by two young women who probably have no idea what it is they took. Please be on the lookout for it in your local pawn shops, local Craligslist sites, if you search for used banjos online at ebay, etsy, etc. It's a one of a kind heirloom and I'm heartbroken. Reward offered for its safe return. (theft has been reported to the NYPD and has detectives assigned to the case). My profile photo actually has a a shot of me with the banjo but I will attempt to upload the photos here again (not successful!). I am on facebook and there are photos there, also on Craigslistnyc.org (a posting in community>lost and found)
The banjo is an old Paramount headstock open back banjo with a distinctive raised tone ring and double brackets inside. Custom neck made by Providence Guitar and Banjo. The headstock reads “Royal Artist”, Bruno, NY”. Light colored maple wood neck and pot. Ornamented headstock (see photost) and diamond angles markers down the fretboard. There’s a metal arm rest on the banjo, and a heavy, clunky looking pickup system inside the pot. The banjo had a Light brown leather clip-on strap. It is heavy to lift. It was in a vintage Pete Seeger-style longneck leather (black) gig bag, with shoulder strap, handle, and forearm carry strap. Very distinctive.
