I started playing guitar when I was 9 yrs old, And learned to sing from my mom in Church. I played Gospel and Country music and some Folk but when a friend took me to a Bluegrass Festival in 1969 I was hooked. I started the Georgia Grass Bluegrass Band in 1972, I played guitar and was the lead singer. We worked hard and stayed a group for many years, mostly playing around the Atlanta Area and in the southern states. After we disbanded I played banjo and sang for a band called Bluegrass Fever. Then I played Guitar and sang for 2 years in "the old crossroads band" When they decided to breakup I spent 3 years playing Banjo in a band called "Grass Backardz". Tired of moving from group to group I decided to restart my old Band GEORGIA GRASS, so I teamed up with some old friends that are great pickers and we are now playing around the Southeast. I am a founding member of the Southeastern Bluegrass Association and helped get it started in 1984. I am also the current President and CEO. I am a member of the Atlanta Society Of Entertainers. I am a lifetime member of the Bonded Brothers of Bluegrass. And in 2009 I was given the honor of induction into The Atlanta Country Music Hall Of Fame. Bluegrass Music and it's family have greatly touched my life and I will continue to play as long as the good Lord lets me.
