I have been working through a bunch of Geoff Hohwald lessons from FreeBanjoVideos.com--something of a misnomer since you quickly start paying for them, but still an unbelievable deal! I went nuts and bought three complete packages--songs, up-the-neck, and rhythm & backup for about $75, and it seems like about a year's worth of lessons...better, really, since the teacher is Geoff, and since he is available tirelessly any hour of the day or night! What a patient guy...no matter how many times I ask him to replay the same damned practice track he never complains!
Also greatly appreciated are when he says things like, "learning to switch fluidly between the D and G positions will take you about a month of practice..." way to make me feel like less of a klutz! And the amazing thing is how it really does come together, as I am sure all hangout-ers know by now. I am learning a lot, having a great time, and driving my family nuts. Thanks, Geoff!
