I am just getting into the BHO and thought i had better put something here.
I try to practice every day but don't always manage it because I have a disabled wife to take care of.
At least 20 years ago I talked about buying a banjo but somehow never got round to it. In 2008 my nephew was talking about duellin banjos and suggested we do it on two guitars instead. He was learning guitar. I said I might just get a banjo and do it properly. 2 weeks later I was walking past a music shop and saw a banjo in the window. I wandered in and asked the assistant, Kerry, if I could just sort of hold a banjo and pick it. 5 minutes later I was hooked. I needed to know if it "felt" right. Bought the banjo and book (Geoff Hohwald) and got started.
We did a faked up version of Duellin at a Christmas party - basically just the slow bit at the beiginning and then a load of forward backward rolls and chord changes and strummed guitar but every body loved it.
I am now working on Janet Davies version of Grandfather's Clock, Tin Roof (Steve Martin) and some others from tabs I got from here.
